It's World Spine Day!




It is estimated that 540 million people in the world are suffering with low back pain at any given time, and remains the number one cause of years lived with disability. World Spine Day is about reflecting on the need to reset and refocus on spinal pain and disability.


The day is aimed at highlighting ways in which people can stay mobile, encourage physical activity, empower with knowledge about back pain and recovery, and adopt healthy habits such as weight loss and stopping smoking.


There are various ways in which people can help their spinal health, and they include:


# adopting optimal posture whilst working

# incorporating regular breaks into your working day (every 45 mins)

# taking regular cardiovascular exercise and strength training sessions each week

# yoga

# Pilates

# meditation

# mindfulness

# staying hydrated

# eating a balanced diet
